Directorate of health affairs in jeddah launched patient safety and risk management system in cooperation with health matrix & datix

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – 1st Jun 2017 – As Part of the Ministry of Health – The Directorate of Health Affairs in Jeddah (DHA-J)’s a continuous effort to improve the safety and quality of the healthcare services of its facilities, a strategic partnership with Health Matrix and Datix resulted in achieving the first milestone of implementing Datix system (from Datix UK – London) for patient safety and risk management in a number of its leading hospitals and primary healthcare centers to form the reliable base of managing clinical and non-clinical safety aspects.

This achievement came as part of a continuous development plan to spread the use of this system to all other facilities under the umbrella of DHA-J to meet the objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 as the quality of service is its core value on all levels and it is on the way toward achieving the kingdom’s vision 2030.

Dr. Mishaal Alsialy, DHA-J Director, expressed the importance of the partnership with Health Matrix as it reaffirms the commitment and support to quality and patient safety, mentioning that the highest technology standards should be always employed in all areas of healthcare services and especially where we can spotlight the clinical and non-clinical errors to be main input for the future development plans.

In the same context, WIQAYAH system was launched as an integrated solution that forms the backbone of a methodology that aims to create a safer environment for patients in healthcare institutions. Dr. Alsialy praised this important milestone and expressed his pride in this remarkable achievement which announced a comprehensive concept of high-quality healthcare services, as it is expected to roll out to all the hospitals and centers of the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom under a holistic initiative in the near future.

WIQAYAH system has a number of important features that ease incident reporting and management along with data accuracy and real-time updated dashboards that meet the executive and operational levels’ needs considering the highest international standards and best practices.
